I am very pleased my friend Marie agreed to my posting this (her latest) poem on my site. -poetheart 07/17/00
I keep searching places
I've already searched
For two poems I wrote
When I was twenty-two.
The first was about writing
And how it's organic
Like water pouring over a cliff
Or menstrual blood.
You told me it was about suicide.
The other was about my lovers.
Yes, all of them.
Even the ones without names.
After him, before us.
You hated them both.
I didn't write them for you.by Marie DeVenezia July, 2000
