"Visitor Response"

I thought it would be interesting for you to read some visitor comments from all the e-mail I have received. These are only a fraction of the many comments sent to me.  The average week brings me approximately 100 e-mails and I respond to almost 90% of it. It is nearly impossible for me to file the many letters, so many of them are read, answered and deleted after that. But here are some that I have held onto for one reason or another...You might even see something you wrote to me!  - poetheart 01/01/00

Hi. My name is Judi, and I am a friend of Dona's. She just directed me to your site and I am so pleased that she did. It is very beautiful and inspiring. Jay, I really enjoyed the interview you did on Dona Lou. You really have a lot of Class!! I usually "talk" to her once or twice a week. She is a remarkable lady. Again, thanks on a class production. Also, thanks on "publishing" my poem Trinity. Charlie Burrell

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I am enjoying the poetheart site. I loved the interview with donalou. My dear friend Judi Ford asked me if I would send you the URL of a poetry site I created for some of her wonderful poems. Here it is: http://www.geocities.com/designerblu/ Thank you for continuing to build your wonderful Web site.

Dear Sweet Jay, You have just made this old heart of mine sing with joy! I would dearly love to have some of my poetry on your site...in fact, it would be an honor. I never really considered my poetry as very good, but it comes fom my heart and soul. I am still writting in rhyme after all these years and I am told that no one does that anymore. To get compliments from someone as talented as you means so much to me....I love your poetry and I adore your heart. Why don't you pick out the ones that touch your heart or say the most to you and we can go from there. I have one that is not posted that I would love for you to read and you can tell me what you think... Sincerely Judi

Jay, I continue to enjoy reading from your poetry site. I was pleased see the poems of Judi's and especially that you chose to include some of the borders that we selected. May I please suggest that you include a link back to the original source for each graphic? The artists put a lot of themselves into their work, and since these graphics are free it is important to give the artists credit. If you need help with this don't hesitate to ask me. And thank you again for maintaining such a wonderful Web site. It is a breath of fresh air. Travis

Poet, I wish to thank you for your wonderful contribution to the inhabitants of the World Wide Web. I was invited to view this site by Dona Lou, who I judge to be a true friend. Her poetry speaks freely of her heart. You also share this capacity for self expression, and I enjoyed reading your current poetry as much as I eagerly anticipate having the time to sit down again and read your earlier works. It would seem that there are underlying themes that reveal themselves in the poetry we write. These are the hidden glimpses of who we are and who we have been. My own poetry is visited by following this link:  If anything at this site suits your taste, I would be honored if you wished to use it at your site. ...steven

I have read the poetry you have posted and would like to say that I consider you to be an excellent poet. Thank you for inviting me to this great website, so well polished as to appear as a television show on the web.

Wednesday, January 26, 2000

Dear Jay, Which are your favorite of my poems? You are truly welcome to use anything you like at your website. I would also like to provide a link from my own site to yours. I feel that you under rate your own talents. It is a sign of a true artist. steven

Dear Jay, Hello. Let me introduce myself, my name is Pat and I am Karl's sister. He has really done a beautiful job with your website. I went looking around there because I like to admire his work (plus, I get ideas for my own site), but while I was there I became enthralled with your poetry. It is wonderful. I have always enjoyed reading poetry, especially when it is written in such a way that the words take your mind on a mental journey. You truly have a great talent. Thanks for sharing it. Pat http://public.sur http://public.surfree.com/peebs P.S. I have a small poetry page on my site. I would love to include a link to your webpage so I can direct anyone on my site that enjoys poetry to a place that is filled such with beautiful work. Please let me know if you would not mind. Thanks!

Jay, Your site has ben quite an inspiration. I have put a link from my site to yours. My best to you! I visit often, that is why I put a link to your site on my first page. It is a simple link at this point but a link nonetheless. I found your site inspiring, because it forced me to remember a place in me that I had forgotten about. I have forever thought I was insightful toward other individuals. What your site showed me within its poetic boundries, was the soul of others...somewhere along the line I had lost that. I thank you for posting my words on your site. Frankly, it is an honor for me. No one ever asked before. I have a booklet of poetry I wrote long long ago...so in your thoughts, there are more! To tell you the truth, you are the only person I have even considered sharing my poetry with. (Thanks to you I ordered "Leaves of Grass" and am reading it again!) It does take some reflective time. I guess I am the one that owes you thanks for making me remember what I lost so long ago. My best wishes, Jay. Chris aka Stear

Jay, I just checked your site again and found six of my works posted! I cannot say thank you enough. It's really the first that I've been exposed like this. For the record, I think your site is aces...regards, Richard

Jay, I read some of your work today. I'll just say this - it inspired me. r.

Dear Poet, I think your site is really great. Thanks for having such a great place to come visit and read poetry. I really enjoy it tremendously. I have bookmarked it and will definitely visit again and again.  Tom

Dear Jay, Poetheart has become a showplace, an art gallery of words. I believe you have done a wonderful thing on your site by having the works of such a variety of poets--I was thrilled to see the works of Pablo Neruda (I love that movie The Postman!) included. Incredible verse in both Spanish and English--I long to be able to write like that! I guess what I am trying to express to you now is, once again, my heartfelt gratitude for having been so very gracious as to include me on your site among the many great poets. I feel that I reside there in magnificent company, and am amazed by it. And thanks again for all you have done in encouraging me, and for the pleasure I have when I go to your site and read what is there. I look forward to every change you make, to every interview you will do, to seeing your works as they are posted (more, more, more of Poetheart, please!), and most of all I look forward to a long lifetime of friendship. Love, Dona

Thursday, February 24, 2000

Poetheart, Your interviews are boring, boring, BORING! Just stick with the poetry - you're not bad and you've come up with some good poets to pick up the slack. Don't start thinking you can do a whole lot with this. You're handicapped to begin with since your literary ability is just okay and not great. L.G. Price

Poet, After visiting your site, I must say that you are indeed talented and your site has some good poetry written by you and other amateur poets. Continue writing and continue the work you have begun on your site. I would be very anxious to see what your site looks like a year from now. Good luck with this project. Bill

Hey Poet! A great site. Like the format and especially like that there are no advertisements and banners popping up all over. Very professional and very nice. Conducive to enjoying the poetry there. I have bookmarked it so I can visit repeatedly. I am also a poet/lyricist/songwriter and will consider submitting something in the future. Keep up the nice work. Joe

Tuesday, March 14, 2000

PoetryMan! Dig your site. Been there a few times now - keeps getting better and better. You're a talented dude. Keep it up! Ciao, Mark  Think you're a cool guy to let other people have their poems there too. Laterz

Hey Poet! Great website. Lots of great stuff here. Like your poems - great style. Nice job putting it all together! Bookmarked it to come back again. Definitely worth visiting. Rick

Hey, Mr. Poet! Your site is great. Your work is really cool. You got a real way with words. Hit me back and let's see if you'll be interested in posting some of my poems on your site. I could really get into that big time. Having my work on your site would be almost as cool as having it published.

Monday, April 3, 2000

Dear Poetheart, Just a note to tell you how much I have enjoyed your poetry. Your site is truly very nice and filled with so many beautiful words.  I especially like your poetry.  It touches my heart as if your words were directed straight to me.  You are very special in the way you write. Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Jill

Poet, Your poetry is some of the finest I have read in a long time. I wish you the best in your endeavors to create a good poetry website - you seem to be well on your way. I will continue to visit your site and watch it grow. And I hope to see you develop it into something great for you, your poets and your visitors.

Sunday, April 23, 2000

Poetheart, We need more of your poetry on your site. Your early work is wonderful but you are lacking more recent work. Please add more current poetry. Thanks.

Monday, May 1, 2000

Dear Jay, I have just been to your site for the first time and I know it will not be the last. I could never imagine such words as you have written..."Secrets" and "Eternity" very nearly made my soul cry out in my search for unconditional love in this world. I will freely admit that tears are coursing down my face for I have no words to express the emotion you have evoked from me. judi lynn Lakewood, Colorado

Poet, I just came back from your site (one of dozens of visits there!!) and just had to tell you that I read your poem "Reality" and I love it. How is it that you say things in ways no one ever did before? I also write poetry, but can never seem to be "original" like you can. You are one remarkable poet the world is just beginning to know. I know one day that you will be considered a great poet. Just a matter of time. Thank you for having your site for the world to enjoy. Brianna

Tuesday, May 16, 2000

Poet, Your site is really awesome. You are very serious about poetry, I can tell. Most personal websites such as the one you have created have a few poems and that's it. Yours is so filled with your own poems, your personal favorites and those of your friends. You even allow visitors to submit their poems. I have never seen a better poetry site and I will visit again. Thanks. John, Long Island, NY

Wednesday, May 24, 2000

Poetheart, A remarkable site worth visiting over and over. I highly recommend it to my friends who like to read good poetry without all the commercial bull usually found on literary sites. AJ, Pittsburgh, PA

Tuesday, June 20, 2000

Poet, I visited your site and like the idea of it - but not with your poetry. Don't give up your real job to write.

Thursday, June 22, 2000

Jay, Do you realize how much your so called poems truly suck? I don't think you realize just how awful they really are or you would not have them on that lame site taking up valuable cyber space. Do yourself and everyone on the Net a favor - shut down your site! I am one of many who would be thankful. I don't expect to hear back from you, but it's okay. I got my message across.

Friday, June 23, 2000

Dear Sir, I have read some of your poetry on your website and found it to be truly inspirational. Your talent is very evident. I am a 16 year old girl, from Australia, and have had an interest in poetry since the age of about 12. I have recently decided to attempt to publish my first book of poetry, and I was wondering if you could possibly send me some feedback if I were to send you some of my work. I haven't had anyone who can give me constructive feedback, and I would appreciate it quite alot if you could possibly spare some time to have a read of some of my work and send me your comments. I will also understand if you can not. I will put one of my poems on this e-mail for you to read. I really enjoyed reading your work, and could relate to alot of it. from, Sarah Murphy

Saturday, June 24, 2000

Dear Jay, I love your website. You have accomplished so much in such a short time. Hopefully you will keep up the dedication to presenting poetry which you demonstrate now. Your poetry is wonderful and I look forward to seeing the new work you post on your site. You exhibit such talent and depth with your words. You're truly an artist. Vonnie

Monday, June 26, 2000

Dearest Jay, Your poems leave me breathless and speechless. "Reality" is just one I can totally relate to and feel like you wrote it from my own heart. "For Mother" made me cry as it was intensely beautiful and so sincere. "Eclipse" is another memorable poem and "Crying" is short and perfect. Your talent as a poet is obvious. How lucky we all are that you have decided to create this website. I wish you much success with it. Debbie, New York

Monday, June 26, 2000

Poetheart, Your poems are truly wonderful. You write poetry with such passion and truth. You are honestly and truly a prominent force in today's world of poetry. Your website is really nice and I can tell you will develop it into a great place for the appreciation of poetry. Thank you sincerely, Marlene, Bayonne, NJ

Dear Poetheart, The more of your poetry I read, the more I am fascinated by your talent and impressed with the very quality of your work. I wish you the best in your attempt to make your website a very great one. Thanks for sharing yourself in such a generous amount of poetry. You touch the hearts and souls of all who read your work.
