"Caribbean Postcard"

Received this poem from Richard today. Visitors have been asking for new poems by February's featured poet so I am glad to post this new poem. - Poetheart 03/23/00

the beach that lays before us to explore.....
a blue Caribbean landscape beckoning you
my fair mermaid painting the scene with your looks
the warm, aqua blue waters cooling your steam
a collection of seashells, a momento of the day
your footprints in the virgin sand, your newness
an orchard of palm, soft swaying in the trade winds.....
a coconut collection, a beach sized group of treats
to watch you simply live, to watch you simply breath.....
for a warm afternoon of tropical heaven, your presence.....
you, and only you, gracing a Caribbean beach, just you.....
no man deserves such a sight.....you on a beach.....
let the trade winds comb your hair.....
let the palm trees sing your name.....
let the sand preserve your presence.....
let the scent of ocean announce your arrival.....
let the aura of you intoxicate me
let it be, from you to me, a Caribbean postcard.
