I stood on the edge of the precipice
And whispered a soft "Good-bye"
My heart leapt out from the cliffside
And flew up to the sky
I took the flight of an eagle
And soared to the top of a cloud
Where the sunlight always dances
And every dream is allowed
I spoke your name to the river
As I watched its lazy flow
Toward a far-off destination
Where I shall never go
I shouted your name to the thunder
When the rain fell down like tears
Then I whispered "Good-bye" in the silence
Across miles and long-lost years
