Those words of love so insincere,
Still resonating in my willing ears,
Once clawed their way so very deep
To that place inside now fast asleep.
I can now admit my contribution,
Resisting the urge for retribution
And battle my torturous difficulty
With understanding and civility.
Piercing words now bleed so sweet -
To die in peace beneath my feet,
Relieving my spirit of desolation,
Soothing my heart with consolation.
