Colors like an oil painting
Against the cool canvas
Of the blue-grey sky:
Black and blue birds,
Perching black-olive wires,
And white picket fence tips,
Lining up in orange fields,
Preparing formation
For the winter exodus
The vivid colors of autumn -
Depicting changes with glory,
Portraying the death sleep:
Chilly smokey mornings,
Warm golden afternoons,
Blue lighted evenings
With orange and red fires,
Roasted chestnut feelings
