"The Flowers of May...And You"

This morning, the scent of lilacs
And fragrant hyacinths, tender daffodils,
And delicate lilies through the open window
Called me into my yard,
Where I saw you standing
In your lavender dress -
The morning sun illuminating
Your face and your hair,
While you smile tenderly.
Then I blink and you are gone.
The scent of the flowers pervailing.
Lilacs remind me of you.

The dogwood whispers your name to me,
As the graceful magnolia eavesdrops -
Knowing my haunting (Just as you do)
But she promises to keep my secret.
The azaleas are in full bloom
And I see the look of wonder on your face.
Then I blink again and your face disappears.
But your sweet voice is in my ears
And I hear you saying sweet things,
I smell your scent in every breath I take,
I can feel you around me...
The flowers of May fill me with your haunting.
