Softness and sweetness
Wrapped up in ribbons of lies
Offering me your version of truth
Like a luscious cluster of grapes
Or a basket of fresh picked figs
My expectant lips swelling to taste
My mouth salivating to consume
Though you offer your strange fruit
Placing it right under my nose
You won't allow me to taste
Disguised deceit and trickery
Like a soft feather to my face
Your sweet seduction covering me
Sprinkling over me like drizzle
Trickling down my shirt
Over the area of my heart
You persist in raining on me
And I am willing to be bathed
Fully aware of what you are doing
I just don't know how to stop you
