"To my favorite poet..."

Your beautiful poetry discovered me
and your words have seduced me
to view your kaleidoscope of cognizance.
Then I was immersed like a baptism
into the gentle waters of your talent.
Inundated by your creativity and unique expression,
I have floated on your tide evermore...
My heart has viewed your tapestry
and my soul has been inspired by yours...
Because for me you are a champion.
You are the beacon which guides me
like a lantern in the darkness.
Your mosaic is my standard of excellence.
If only I could possess a fraction
   of your talent and spirit...

I have been a vicarious sojourner -
visiting all the pavilions on your heartscape.
I have been a craving poet-pilgrim
lost in your impressive passion and vision.
And all because of you, my poet...
I have wandered flower-potted piazzas
sharing your thoughts and feelings there.
I have been moved to tears by the icons
illuminated by scores of flickering candles
I have delighted in the cathedral frescoes
populated by cherubs and serenaded by choirs.
I have basked on your beaches and porches,
with gentle breezes whispering in my ears.
And I have felt the thunder rumble in my chest,
and smelled the rain when lightning struck.
With generosity you have taken me to so many places -
Places in this world and in other realms,
realms of thought, feeling, emotion, experience...

I have felt love, deceit and treachery in my heart.
My face has smiled your joys
and my eyes have cried your tears.
I can see, taste, smell, hear and feel the abstract
because of your expression in written word.
My mind has been stimulated by your intellect
and my soul indelibly annointed by your passion.
My heart has been colored from your palette,
and my being touched by your rich creativity.
My spirit has been lifted via your ingenuity
and transformed me in a thousand ways.
Your masterful use of words has entertained me
with delightful reality and smooth fantasy...
We have gone the seasons of our lives together.
I am forever grateful for your enrichment.
