Life has conspired to define me
Culture promises to refine me
Girlfriend threatens to redesign me
My job wants to reassign me
Each of these things insist
Age and possibility consist
Of what is acquired and missed;
I want to do more than exist
I want craving and desire
I want to lay before a fire
Having more than what's required
More than what my life conspires
I need to be much more than fiction
Want to balance my contradiction
Be free of imposing restrictions
Is this a very real depiction?
Someday I want to rightly conclude:
That life, for me, was no interlude
That in my own way I pursued
And won the headlines of the news!
