I really like the language and expression of this new poem by Dona Lou. - poetheart 05/15/02
A melody that hauntingly
Invades my mind then steals away
To take with it a part of me
Is what you are to me.
A painting in a stately hall
That holds my vision in its sway
So powerfully commands me to attend
What it is trying to convey,
While I, in my befuddled state,
Can only stand in awe and wait
Until the understanding comes,
If understanding ever comes.
I hope, and in my hope I find
Your face is often in my mind
And words that not yet have been said,
These wild desires in my head
In my memories wherin reside
Sweet, secret passions that I hide
From any other prying eyes to see,
A kiss once shared by you and me
