Of this recent poem, Dona Lou says "This one is sort of tongue-in-cheek humor"and I must agree. - poetheart 12/28/01
I don't think love is ever convenient
It takes too much work to do it right:
Time and energy, thought, emotion
Encompassing true love's devotion
Passion is exhausting, too
All that energetic thinking of you
Sleepless nights and restless days
Imagining love's intricacies
Now, I am not really complaining
But after love, comes the waning
The leaving is inconvenient, too
So, I think it might be wiser for me
To never, ever let myself be
In love with inconvenient YOU
