This poem will surely become another "Dona Lou classic." - poetheart 05/01/02
Death is a wall I can't climb over
A wall of rock, deep blue and steep
A river running black and deep
Death, a mountain, looms in the distance
With ice and silent snow at the peak
Of my demise I dare not speak
Life is the flattened plain I wander
Life, a sweet meadow, cool and green
Life, a goblet of clean pure water
Sand in a glass always tumbling
Off in the distance, death is rumbling
What is my life? What does it mean?Birth was a terrible pain in the belly
Birth was a cry deep in the night
Birth, a miraculous work of Love
A mystery-gift sent from Above
Another warrior joins in the fightThis is the Now in which I live
This is all that Life can give
Moment to moment on Earth to dwell
Now is my Heaven, Now is my Hell
Only time will tell
