"In dreams..."

This portrait of romance is Dona Lou Pearson's latest poem.  - poeheart 01/02/00

The moment has passed when it would have been right
Like a leaf on the wind on a starlit night
Like a snowflake in May melts before the sun
Our moment was over, never having begun
But I remember well a lover’s dream
Like a silent movie on a silver screen
We dance in the light of a lover’s moon
And it’s never over all too soon
You never leave me with no goodbyes
With bitter tears in my dreamer’s eyes
I don’t have to wonder what went wrong
Or why I keep loving with love so strong
In my dreams we dance on till the end of time
But they’re only dreams, and they’re only mine
In my heart I know that they can’t be real
But my dreams are reflections of how I feel
So I'll keep on dreaming till dreaming's through
With my final breath, I'll be loving you.
