On this last day of the year 2000, I am posting yet another poem by my poet friend Dona Lou. I have just spent a few hours reviewing reading and enjoying her wonderful work. I have to say again that she is extremely talented and I cherish my association with such a fine poet. - poetheart 12/31/00
This morning I was angry with you
For things you never did or said
So many hurts that I had gathered
Went tumbling ‘round inside my head
I thought of words as yet unspoken
Of lies that never have been heard
All promises remain today unbroken
Because you never gave your word
Though nothing given as a token
Of your esteem for me did I receive
Just for a crazy little moment
I heard the lies, and did believe
Now in a flash of recognition
I see the truth as it must be
I see the the liar’s true condition
And that the fault must lie with Me
