Last month my friend Dona Lou sent me this poem. I selfishly kept this wonderful poem to myself until now, one month later. - poetheart 04/28/02
To see is To Believe...
Or so they say...
But perhaps the truth
Is quite the other way:
To believe is to see
The mystery afar
Beyond the vision
Of the out-flung galaxies
Surpassing the furthest star,
Or deeply masked obscurity
The mystery of the darkest sea
Or that which lies in secrecy
In your unknown heart, of me
Or in my heart concerning you
How can we know sight unseen
If what we say be sincerity
All that we mean...and True?
And if Time alone can convey
Whether it is false or real-
The things we seem to feel-
By all the words we say-
Then I implore Time to reveal
And set my heart at ease
Oh, very soon, please!
