"Freedom"

This is a first attempt at poetry from 34 year old Victor Leitch. Victor lives with his wife in a town called Paisley (Yes, where the pattern originated!) in Scotland.  - poetheart 06/24/01

In nation of weary sheep
A rampant lion lays down to weep
For a nation once so proud
A voice heard once so loud
No other nation would be so bold
Forget our history we were told
Of tartans and heathers our nation sang
Of bonny princes and Auld Lang Syne
Of lochs and monsters and Rabbie Burns
Of battles lost and battles won
And still our nation stood steadfast
Our freedom is coming at long last
The lion will roar once more
