"Get Some Kicks"

Receiving this new poem from Patricia Lynn is exactly what I needed today. It provokes thought, it's entertaining and it's well written.  - poetheart 05/20/02

A child walks the curbside
Just like a balance beam
Balancing toe to heel motions
With each new play day's dream.

The woman washes the windows
And sees through all the streaks
She can see her life so clearly
Through the fingerprints and the squeaks.

The man who delivers packages
In his uniform, knows all of life
He brings mystery to the masses
And drives home to surpr
ise his wife.

The hairdresser hears your secrets
The cashier knows what you eat
The doctor knows what ails you
So why do feel so incomplete?

The sales girl knows your size
The trainer knows you're weak;
The photographer reads your eyes
Your time has come to stand up and speak.

Change, change, change; be open to exchange
Dream and open up, become a part of the mix
Become happy as a lifetime participant
Go out, get a job and get some kicks!
