Steven Hodgin is a poet from Arizona who has other poems on my site. Most of his work on my site comes from his book "Palette of the Heart" which he published in 1998. (His book may still be available for purchase. You may write to me here at poetheart.com and request a copy and I will contact him for you). This is a beautiful romantic poem from that book. - poetheart 03/01/01
If you had magic glasses
to peer into my soul
you would see within me
a dark and gaping hole
An emptiness which you could fill
To make my life complete
I need your conversation
and friendship, oh, so sweet
But if confined within your fear
your heart shall ever be
Then I shall ever be alone
within my memory.
