"More On The Traveler"

This is the 12th Traveler's Tale posted on poetheart.com.  I am quite happy to have a dozen of these Tales and look forward to more of them.  - poetheart 08/14/01

Ah, lassie, 'tis a tear I see-
A tricklin' down yer face-
Faith! an' dost thou weep for me?
Fair maiden, sweet an' chaste!

A warrior, aye! an' quite the rogue...
At least I've 'eard it said.
I'm told I run, quite like the fool-
Where angels fear to tread!

Ah, yes, me blade's Toledo steel-
An' cold as arctic ice!
An' aye! I've warmed it wi' the blood-
O' varlets once, er twice.

I dinna ken the infamy,
Wha' goes wi' blades fer 'ire-
For dead, be dead, fer alla tha'
A livin's me desire.

To farm a platt, or toil fer fish-
Or wield me arms fer pay-
Why, lass, we all must gi' account-
The comin' judgement day!

I 'ear the tramp o' booted feet-
A comin' down yon trail-
I must be gone on courser fleet...
An' end me Traveler's Tale!
