"the mum still blooms"

Patricia's "sequel" to "A Garden of Weeds" was written yesterday.  - poetheart 09/16/02

at last
a few raindrops
rejuvenate
cool with nutrients
to perpetuate

the autumn of change
brings great repair
green leaves sprout
in spite of ill care

flowering plants
return to life
in harvest hues
in spite of strife

moist air chilled
by drenching winds
blow weeds away
and forgive all sins

a temperate fall
changes all
soil here
is erosion tilled
the mum still blooms--
in a garden thrilled!
