Before me, I saw the worst of my fears
In your eyes, I saw the love gone
as though fire had frozen over
And through it I saw a new flicker
one beknownst to me,
causing such unworded pain.
Though I wished to speak,
as to conquer the defeaning silence
not a sound was heard.
I could not but face such
and be left tormented by a lost cause.
Not a tear would flow, not a cry was let out
I remained as though numb,
uncertain of how to take this all
Then you turned and I could not hold you back
The pain, the loss - it made everything
all too real.
And I am left to deal with it alone
until such a time I start to feel despair
and not empty as I do now.
