This bluesy poem was inspired by a rainfall... - poetheart 03/19/02
With rain his best new enemy
Struggling through the day
No sunny thoughts to comfort him
Just clouds filled with dismay. The raindrops on her tender heart
Trickle down with pain
To drench her soul in sorrow
Not letting her complain.Like traipsing through the puddles
With muddied jeans and shoes
Downtrodden are their spirits
Drizzled and confused.
This lonely soul and lonely heart
Long to sing the blues
Knowing all the verses
It's misery they choose.
Their souls can see no brightness
Their hearts are dripping wet
They've lost their voice in downpours
And haven't found them yet.
This lonely soul and lonely heart
Ache for rainy news
They'll never find the sunshine
Because they love the blues.
