Patricia's new poem well describes April's showers and is very appropriately matched to the season. Happy April from Patty. - poetheart 04/04/03
Gently tapping raindrops fall
Black pavement sizzles, cools then steams
Falling raindrops bounce back up
On puddles, pools and streams
Clouds, blow quickly overhead,
Frightened birds are fleeing on the scare
Winds dominate and accelerate
Pushed by pressure changes in the air
The sky has drawn a blue-black curtain,
More drama than calm, excitement enough to spare,
For all who seek shelter from the storm
Then sit silent, stop and stare.
A clean new breeze sends the petals and leaves
Swirling and swaying to and fro
They are most surprised to be moisturized
And drink each drop so they may grow.Thunder rumbles all around
The sky jolts with blazing bolts of light
As the swelter of the torrid day--
Dissipates in the evening's rainy night.
