"Subliminal Orgy"

This poem exemplifies the inner struggles many people deal with daily. Addiction comes in many forms and, to some degree, everyone has problems controlling their impulses every now and then. In this poem Brad takes into account the various stages of this vicious cycle of compulsion.
In his e-mail to me accompanying his poetry Brad wrote "I don't smoke, drink or do drugs but it seems that for every bad thing given up there is always an equal and suitable replacement ready to take its place."  - poetheart 07/01/02

Incessant bombardment of impulsive imagery the eyes most pleased.
Crucial to the success and motivations of these connivers creates a sadistic disease.
The mind unearths an ever-existent epidemic of euphoric delight.
Following the unnoticed potential of after, the downward trend takes flight.
The slightest trigger can unleash episodes of tiring antics galore.
The fluctuations of fluid in the body make the demon soar.
Menacing modules of lust paraded so neatly packaged and clean.
Sets up for an intoxicating selfish and mindless dream.
A whole life of its own endeavors to stay and consume whatever is left.
Release is sure to arrive with insecurity and utter regret.
Repetitive and positive reinforced agreement is the strength of its seed.
Knowing now then in the future is the trick to making it bleed.
Wisdom to battle the inner intricate details is not easy to obtain.
For the journey is an ignominious flurry of incomparable pain.
