The space between the luscious green
With velvet weeds and pruning needs
Is a hiding place to such sweet critters
Where mother cats give birth to litters
And Mama deer so full of fear
Looks back on her speckled fawn
In the underbrush the crickets hush
So the groundhog knows to strike a pose
Where mosquitoes hatch by the thorny patch
We zigzag through the morning dew
In hope to find what's been on our mind
Since summer's start:
Hunt wild berries and add some Ben & Jerry's-
Blackberry picking-
A delicious, ambitious nature lover's art!
