"The Traveler's Past"
("Traveler's Tale XXI")

Another Traveler's Tale...this one from the Traveler's past.   - poetheart 09/05/01

" 'E packed 'is kit, an' slung 'is blade-
An' started on 'is trek.
Desirin' fer adventure...
'er siren call did beck...
'E was a Scottish laddie...
Red 'aired, wi' eyes so pale-
'Twere like a bloody mirror."
Thus starts the Traveler's Tale.
I've 'eard 'e marched wi' Wallace
At Glencoe took 'is stand...
The lure of gold an' silver...
Took 'im far to other lands.
It's said 'e were a sailor man-
An' sometimes of a night-
'is memory wou' take 'im back-
To some 'air raisin' fight.
I'd gi' a bloomin' sovereign-
For a mug o' Scottish ale...
An' the privilege o' 'earin'
'im spin a Traveler's Tale.
