"A Vision of My Mother"

Last month I received a series of poems from Jason Visconti which I thought were really good. One thing I like about Jason's poetry is his imagery. Another thing I like is his unique and passionate expression. I have decided to post all five of these poems. This is the first one.  - poetheart 08/10/02

Washing her hands at the rim of the well
I'm amazed by sunlight in her eyes.
Dampening a washcloth in a whirling pool

I smile as she rings it out with the joy of free flowing water;
I laugh most at the way she shows me how perfect

we were a son and a mother, two alone sharing a tear forever
from a bottomless well.
