I am happy to have received two more poems by this young poet from Kentucky. Matthew's poetry includes "Without a Mother" "What goes on in the mind of a dark poet?" and "The Battle" as well as a few others. - poetheart 06/23/01
"Elderly"
Time ticks by...
As we stare at the old grandfather's clock
Remembering the old days
When we were young
Remembering the days so long ago
Now they're nothing more than a vivid memory
We try desperately to recall
"Far From Home"
The ocean waves crash against the shore
A reminder I am far from home
Away from the shelter I had
Away from everyone I've knownby Matthew D. Ward
