I am more than happy to post this next poem. Matthew also wrote "Without a Mother" which I just posted yesterday. - poetheart 06/20/01
What goes on in the mind of a dark poet?
Is there a certain turning of the wheels,
Making the mind go toward the morbid?
Thinking of nothing but their own death,
A death of solitude,
A death of loneliness,
A death written many times.
There is no answer to the inquiry.
For the mind of a poet is a labyrinth.
A labyrinth they are lost within,
- trapped.
The mind of a dark poet,
Holds the secret of despair,
The pain of isolation,
And morbid curiosity.by Matthew D. Ward
