upon first light, from the window shade-
your face, it starts to glow
morn's first gleam, my heart awakes-
of this I want you to know
with a tender kiss, my lips will touch-
a face so bathed in need
for as you stir, to greet the day-
your love I will gladly feed
to start the day, with you at hand-
the first I get to hold
your urgent need to light the fire-
will cause me to be so bold
and when at last, our joy's been shared-
like a serendipitous surprise
the night will bring, that wondrous thought-
